Contest eligibility: the conditions we will not cross

We assess a contest entry against its written rules, the people involved and the promotion requested. If the plan conflicts with those conditions, we explain the reason before campaign work begins.

In shortMegaSatoshi declines projects when contest rules prohibit outside promotion, when the project is political, lottery or gambling-related, when a minor lacks parental consent, or when the request involves purchased or automated votes. We check the materials during the free initial analysis and explain our decision in writing. If the project can proceed within the rules, we outline a suitable next step.

Which conditions make a contest request ineligible?

A request is outside our work when the proposed promotion would conflict with contest rules, involve political campaigning or gambling, proceed without required parental consent, or rely on vote purchasing or automation. These are boundaries, not matters we negotiate around.

We decline the following:

  • The contest rules prohibit entrants from promoting their entries beyond the organizer’s own channels.
  • The project is a political campaign, lottery or gambling promotion.
  • A minor is featured or participating and a parent or guardian has not consented.
  • The request asks us to use or accept purchased votes or automated activity, which we do not do.

We do not sell votes, followers or engagement, and we do not use bots, scripts, fake accounts or click farms. Our work uses white-hat methods, in line with platform rules and contest rules. For projects that meet those conditions, our contest marketing overview explains the kinds of promotion we can consider.

A request can be resubmitted if a material condition changes, such as the organizer clarifying a rule in writing or parental consent being obtained. Until then, we will not begin promotion that depends on an unresolved exception.

What evidence informs our first assessment?

The written contest terms and the requested promotion plan are the basis of our initial review. We compare what you want to do with what the organizer permits, then note any missing consent or restricted activity before discussing campaign execution.

Please prepare these materials where available:

  • A link or copy of the contest rules, including amendments or organizer announcements.
  • The entry link and the official contest or voting page.
  • Your intended channels and a plain description of how you plan to invite people.
  • For an entry involving a minor, confirmation that a parent or guardian has agreed to the entry and proposed promotion.
  • Any written answer from the organizer about promotion restrictions.

You provide the entry details and documents; we review the relevant wording and identify the point that needs clarification. If terms are ambiguous, we can help frame a concise question for the organizer. We do not treat another entrant’s behavior as permission: the organizer’s written rules are the reference for our decision. Our contest rules and risk consulting can support a closer review when the terms or proposed channels need more attention.

How do we document a decision to decline?

A decline should leave you with a clear reason and a useful record, rather than a vague refusal. In our Quality Gate, we connect the concern to the material you supplied and state whether any documented change could alter the assessment.

The Governance File for the review can record:

  • The rule, consent issue or requested method that prevents us from proceeding.
  • The item we relied on, such as the contest terms or an organizer’s written response.
  • The question to put to the organizer, if a clarification could resolve the issue.
  • The material you can send if the project becomes eligible for another review.

This record is intended to help you make a sound next decision; it is not approval from the organizer or a platform. Where the issue is a request for vote purchasing or automation, there is no alternate version of that work we can provide. Where the rules restrict a particular channel, the remaining options must still be allowed by the contest terms. See our approach to honest contest promotion for the methods we use when a project passes review.

What can you do after a project is declined?

A declined request may be reconsidered when the underlying facts change, but not by disguising a restricted activity. Send the new rule text, organizer response or consent confirmation, and we will assess the revised materials.

If the organizer confirms that some promotion is allowed, the plan can be limited to those permitted activities. For example, an entry may still be suitable for a review if a restriction applies only to one channel and the organizer confirms another route is allowed. We will not treat that possibility as permission until the relevant wording supports it. For an eligible project, options can include paid contest promotion or creative and copy for a contest campaign, subject to the rules and the scope agreed.

Platform and organizer decisions remain theirs: we cannot promise that an ad will be approved, that a vote will be counted, that a ranking will change or that an entry will win. We commit to the agreed work and clear reporting, not to outcomes controlled by another party.

Frequently asked questions

Are political polls treated like ordinary business awards?

No. If a poll or contest serves a political campaign, we decline the promotion request. A business award or community poll can be assessed when it is not political and its rules allow the proposed outreach. Send the contest terms and entry details so we can establish which kind of project it is.

What do you need from a parent or guardian?

We need confirmation that a parent or guardian agrees to the minor’s participation and the proposed promotion. Please also identify which images or other materials may be used and where. We will not proceed with a project involving a minor until consent and the applicable platform requirements are addressed.

Can you promise a particular vote total or that my entry will win?

No. Votes may be subject to the organizer’s review and counting rules, while contest outcomes are decided outside our control. We can agree the work to be delivered, report on that work and label projections as projections; we cannot promise a vote total, ranking or win.

Can you review the project again if the organizer changes the terms?

Yes. Send the revised terms or the organizer’s written clarification, along with the entry link and any updated consent material. We will assess the new information and explain whether it changes the decision. A changed document may resolve the original issue, but it does not automatically approve every proposed channel.
